Harry Kitty

CUTE indeed.
This is what I call color control. Great job to the fan who designed this.
This is how it's done!

TJ and I have always talked about how magazines here in the Philippines will rarely do something with humor on their covers. It's probably cause others won't get it, or people here aren't in for funny magazine covers, we don't know. But I've always dreamed of doing humorous covers, people with big real smiles on the cover, it's happy and it's energetic but it's not annoying.

Then I stumbled on a FANMADE Numbero Homme Tokyo Cover for last month. Featuring the handsome Harry Goodwins (who, by the way has been doing the heavy rounds this year) dressed in a fresh, wrinkly pink jacket and multi-colored scuba suit and the ultimate icon of cute and Japanese culture, Hello Kitty. I know, I know. People think it's so gay or that it's weird, but for me, it works. There is something so cool, clean and sporty about the whole look. I actually love it so much, I'm planning to have it printed and framed for my desk here at the office...

Whoever did this, please show yourself. This is pure genius. It's witty, it's cool, it's easy and it's memorable. Great job.

This, is something humorous but at the same time, could pass as a serious cover. Don't you agree? I so fucking love it...It's crazy. Philippines, are we ready for something like this? Hmmm... I am for sure.

The Hair

This morning I finally read Jules Schratter's reply to my e-mail and guess what?
I'm doing a story on him...(If you're wondering why and how and just a little confused, read this)
I promise him now that it'll be a cool, really casual yet sensible story/interview since, well, that's how he is and that's just how he likes it (which is allllllll gggggrrrrrreeeeaaaaaatttttttt for me).
Anyway, on the weekend I'd be studying his blog and do some bit of research on him just so I could throw in good questions. If you haven't followed his blog yet, be ashamed. I kid. Go check out Jules' blog and start getting inspiration.

In the meantime, while I'm all chill and excited (hahaha), here's a video of how dudes up in fashion week do hair. It's amazing. I've been obsessing about great hair since God knows when and I'm still jealous that models have awesome hair. This is how you do great hair. The ladies have those voluminous, wavy locks that are just super sexy. Guys, on the other hand have this kind of hair, that old school, soft side part that I have been trying for ages and only came by before my stylist forgot about what-the-customer-wants. I had it see, a day or two ago and then...well, the best thing about hair is that it grows back.

Thanks Jules and as promised, this weekend...Will write to you soon.

To my Salt-y readers, wait for this story to appear here on my blog...
It's a first (for Salt) and I'm all smiles my jaw just snapped.

Oh G

Here's a story that goes on a sort of Tumblr format...
(I have a paper due tomorrow and I haven't even started, but oh well. This made me jump).

Another "G", Garrett Neff left and Julian "Jules" Schratter right

One of my new favorite blogs is through Jules' lens by model/photoblogger Julian Schratter (check it out and follow!). At first, I liked his blog cause it showed real candid photos of some of my favorite models. But then going deeper into his quaint and awesome blog, he's actually quite the writer too...
Making you think, and reflect and that's exactly the balance I want to achieve in my blog...Although Schratter's more hip than I am, I understand what he wants to do and am now a big fan. For those of you who need to put faces on names such as this, meet Julian Schratter (above).

Anyway, imagine him ACTUALLY replying to a comment of mine on his blog (sure, sure, sure it sounds stupid...but a. is that there are people who don't reply on their comment boxes, b. this is an f-ing model we're talking about c. this is an f-ing model we're still talking about). Now here is the tumblr-iffic part (and check out the other minimized sites and documents...Welcome to one crammed, Monday night).

BAYM! Check out "Julian S"'s "Thanks G"...
HAHAHAHA...Hey, say what you want but this made me smile

And my face just went:

Me, when "cute" still liked me, now it's gone somewhere...

One of the things I really, really like is being called by the nickname my parents gave me: "G". No matter how you spell it, I love it. Gerard sounds too formal...

And having been "called" "G" by Julian Schratter is a sign...A sign that I should start modeling, since Asians are all around anyway and I'm...what, Asian, I guess I could, right? Jesus, just thinking about going to those cool parties that Schratter and his model friends go to, is awesome.

Then again, I'm no model material.

But hey, at least I got called "G".

HAHAHAHA...The simple joys of life.

SHOUT OUT TO MY BOY, JULIAN SCHRATTER...I hope I could call you Jules. hahahah...
But greeeeaaaatttt blog. Keep it coming!

See, I'm actually easy to please. Contrary to what others think...

SPECIAL thanks to my sister, Sugar, Io, Lesley "the sizzling plate" Choa for teaching me how to do this screen cap, print screen whatever you call it thang....
