Olympian Style

Kult Paper's Olympic style story
From @malemodelscene
The Isles of Wonder brought me to tears today. True. You know me, I'm a huge bowl of Soft Batch, pretty easy to make me cry. Well, not really, but when there's some heart-warming story in anything that gets my mind running on a trail such as "imagine having trained all your life and to set foot on the Olympics with the world's best..." And the story goes on to be ended with a tear. So to Danny Boyle and the team that made the Olympics happen, congratulations.

This is probably the first time I watched the opening ceremonies of the Olympics and it was amazing. First parts were a little so-so for me, but the rest were just amazing. Especially the lighting of the cauldron. Just beautiful. I started getting teary-eyed when they were introducing the junior Olympians and the ones who nominated them passed on the torch---in all sense of the phrase. Lovely. The bit with the Arctic Monkeys too was great, loved that with the fireworks and all. To people who live in London and are there right now to witness it, I know it's the best time to be there...I'm so jealous. Please send my regards to the three world superstar athletes I want to see if ever I was there, Federer, world's fastest man Hussein Bolt and, my all time favorite swimmer, Ryan Lochte.

Athletes are actually quite the mesmerizing subject for other things aside from sports. They make interesting public figures, celebrities, endorsers (in my opinion, athletes present the most credible and eligible endorsers of products out there), stories and, most of all, fashion inspirations. I wasn't surprise to hear Ryan Lochte planning to have his own clothing line in the future (though not really a fan of his green stoned sneakers), because I've always had this feeling that athletes too are as into fashion and style as other people are.

And to prove that, I present you Kult Paper's story with the Olympics as its inspiration. For me this is how you should do a fashion story on sports and the Olympics. The photos may lack the overall spectacle and the magnitude a world wide audience provides in real life, but this one makes up for it by giving you a true fashion story that manages to braid the spirit of athleticism with the flawless, beautiful world of fashion. What you have is something cool, vintage in feel and inspiring you to be good-looking, sporty and stylish (if it's ever humanly possible). Work High

That's a line-up! Carlie De Murga (far left) of the Azkals.
I didn't get to go to this shoot, but I'm happy I got Carlie in there.
Thanks Eric Salta of MAVEN magazine. GRAB your copies guys, so much more inside!
MAVEN magazine June-July 2012 (my photo)

This will be a short one, I promise. So while I am just some weeks away from a year of working for W, I think this month has been an exciting one for us and for myself as well. We've been booking jobs and appearances and pages of and for the country's best and it's exciting to see our talents (as I like to call them "kids") working, moving and starting to grow. I'm happy for this month because I've done a lot of magazine bookings, something that I feel I do easily at the job and while it is tempting to take 100% of the credit, what my job has taught me is that working well means having guidance and having the right kind of people with you. Though these are some of my bookings, I thank the people who have made these possible as well because without them, it will be ten million times harder to work.

And since it's a weekend, I urge you to grab a copy of these magazines that feature our wonderful kids from W Talent Management. When e-mails have been exchanged, talent profiles have been sent, zipped and unzipped and approved, and the shoot day comes and the pages come out, it's a rush really. Never tried drugs but maybe this is how a high feels...Seeing the finished product and knowing what kind of work, people and talent have gotten into producing it is rewarding.

Pretty boy Carlie.

My very first cover and I'm forever grateful it's of the beautiful promise, Jasmine Curtis-Smith.
CANDY magazine June 2012
BIG thanks to Ms. Betchay Vidanes, Apple Maglinte, Marla Miniano of CANDY, Jaja of TV5

There are definitely more things that I've done for this June, but I'm saving them all up for my kinda lengthy One Year At Work post next month. hahaha. But do these great kids a favor and grab your copies. Take a break, enjoy the weekend and enjoy the weekend with these. Add on your list too CHALK magazine with Zac Efron on the cover, cause Jasmine's Blog (Jasmine Curtis-Smith's monthly column) has some perfect advise for those back-to-school friends who might've lost touch during the break...

It's not obvious that I love my job right? haha. One of the reasons why it's hard for me to just up and leave is because I've found a job that has great bosses, great workmates and great talents to work with, plus the job itself is a dream job. It's a rare chance to have almost a perfect first job, but I have to thank God for this, cause I believe this job is that close to being just that...a perfect, fresh-out-of-college job. Now, if only I could go beyond just magazine covers and putting faces on billboards, then, it'll be perfect. Real soon..

Enjoy the weekend everybody.

The Girls & The Boys

Werner Schreyer for L'Officiel Hommes

I present to you this weekend's round-up of boys and girls that inspire our every single day. At first, I felt like doing a gender, color story and how in an ideal world, boys are blues and greys and girls are all orange, red and pink, but that'd be too boring. I still though follow the color scheme, but concentrate more on the photos and the people.

But anyway, as usual, what happens during my weekend posts is that there is always something I find right about certain photos and how they gel together. My problem is, I don't know exactly what it is! haha. Enjoy this weekend's post and have a great week ahead.

Campaigning 1

Gymnasts in Chanel. Spring 2012

Spring 2012 on the campaign trail looks promising and exciting.

If you're a hardcore fashion kid or a huge fan of good-looking anything, these campaigns are always on your to-check list before the seasons start. Since 2008 I've been hooked on who stars in the latest campaigns, who photographed them, how everything looks and most of all, if my favorites got any big deals this season. I'm glad Garrett Neff is romancing the beautiful Ashley Greene for DKNY.

Also excited for BJ Pascual's Michael Cinco campaign. It's the only Filipino designer and campaign that I've included cause it's just fantastic. It did remind me of Alexander McQueen to an extent, but don't you dare say it's a copy or less beautiful just because. So, I introduce to you, the very first Great-looking weekend for the year. Here are my favorite Spring 2012 campaigns all sourced from my favorite website, models.com.  Part 2 next weekend!

W is for Wishes

Patti Grandidge. ETCETERA host, Cupcake Queen, Beyonce fan and most of all, a class act!
Love this girl. I especially love it when she says "Bet"!
And while you're reading this, love her too, here!
It's about time I show you a real deal, beautiful, great-looking weekend that features people who are actual people (cause really, sometimes they feel like they're beyond us).
To celebrate 11-11-11 (for wishes granted and because "W" actually stands for "Wishes", no, not really) and also to finally let all my bottled-up fanaticism out, I present to you the talents I handle and have met for work. God truly loves me cause he knows that his handsome and beautiful creations are my drugs and for a job, he gave me W Talent Management. Always so thankful for this.
Like I always say, it's all stress and pressure, but when you see these people in person and they're incredibly nice and genuine and just too great-looking to comprehend, you just want to climb and move mountains to give them the best careers and jobs the world has to offer.

And yes, it's about damn time I show you a great-looking weekend of models and personalities that are from the Philippines and most of all, from W Talent Management. (Yeheeesss, major promotion).
Welcome to your great-looking Friday, courtesy of (my) WORK! Happy 11-11-11 too...Cause when all I ever asked for was to meet a great-looking famous someone, God gave me all of them.

Number One

A Day in the life of the world's number one male model
Sean O'pry

How's everybody doing?
Been a while now, huh. Well, I'm sure as happy as hell that this morning, after visiting (possibly) my favorite website in the world, models.com, found out that Sean O'pry is now number one. Everybody knows this guy brings in so much money, does the runways like clockwork and has a face so painfully beautiful and recognizable, it's a shame he's only number one now.
But anyway, I'm still happy.

I might be rattling it again, but after seeing this, I couldn't help but feel better and better about my job. I know I could this (W could do this) and I'm pretty excited. We might not have Sean O'pry-esque guys (and my bosses know that we need more male models in our roster) but we have great people. And the superlative justifies most of our talents. So I just couldn't wait to run a website like models.com, following around our talents, taking pictures of them and showing you how a day in the life of a model/talent/host/actor/actress is. Couldn't wait. For now, enjoy these photos of Sean for your great-looking weekend.

Pairings

Good morning.
Just got home from a really busy weekend. I had to go fly to Davao with my sweet Patti Grandidge and my super favorite make-up artist, Diana Santos for an event. Four hours locked up in a make-up room, some minutes of dinner, some minutes searching for a good smoking area (where no one gets penalized), some minutes drinking with the two beautiful ladies, some hours of sleep, an hour and fifty on the plane back, church and now, I'm quite alive.

Of course I had to check out what's going on with my favorite websites (since I was on call for proabably 25 hours for the job, today being my real weekend) and I'm happy to present to you two pairings that I'd file under the Great-looking weekend post I've loved doing for you guys.

Here's Sean O'pry and Tobias Sorensen for Simons (above) and Freja Beha Erichsen and Clement Chabernaud for Jill Stuart. For the two boys, it's quite a good combination: O'pry's kinda soft and somehow reminds you of something fluffy while Sorensen's all edgy and rough and rock n' roll and the two combined is just amazing. Erichsen and Chabernaud on the other hand could've done something together a looooonnnggg time ago. They match and they match well. I'm happy. Even though I'm pretty tired and sleepless, I'm still happy. I only dream of doing pairings as big as these. Someday... Imagine how easy it is and how gratifying it'll be to do something like this...

Polka Dots and Moonbeams

Arizona Muse as Adeline

Stories: All-New Tales edited by Neil Gaiman and Al Sarrantonio has only been a few hours under my possession and I already love the 20-something short stories by today's most read authors (Jodi Picoult, Chuck Palahniuk, Neil Gaiman, Peter Straub and more). It's an attractive little anthology because it has the heaviest name dropping in Literature you could imagine---if you are, that is, into the name dropping. The cover has this real nice texture and its simple, almost kiddy look adds much to how deep the stories are inside. It's pricey, of course to people who don't have the bone or inclination towards books and magazines and/or anything that requires some time of the day for reading, but for people like myself it's a steal, really.

Magazines, are definitely drugs to me, but books are like quick vacations. I've been tired at work and even though I enjoy it, I still need that break. I sometimes wish I was the kind of person who doesn't need to stop, but anyway...Yeah. If you want to take your mind off things, sort of detoxify it from the usual, I suggest you pick-up a book and get away for a while. It keeps me inspired in all aspects: writing, creativity, the imagination, life, language and the lot. So if you do have the time and if you're itching for something to read, this one's a perfect solution.

(Another) Beautiful Weekend

Dark-haired and awfully sensuous, the  beautiful Ms. Anna de Rijk
Maybe it's cause I've been bumming around that I don't find anything worthy to blog. I mean, I'm doing alright but really, it's when I'm doing something that I could really write about something (ahhaha). And while I'm still on this bum mode, I've been feeding you with great looking people after great looking people of posts, and I think you all like it. I think.
Don't worry, soon, I'll be blogging about something more than just beautiful people.
In the meantime, enjoy your weekends kids and celebrate with this weekend's great-lookers.

Raquel Zimmerman for June's Brazilian VOGUE. What a beauty.

Wonder Boys: Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez

Steve Boyd

Sun Fei Fei, possibly the most beautiful Asian model as of the moment
