#7 & #6

James Dean as Cal on East of Eden

Steve McQueen and the American flag

In Hollywood, there are two men I've started to look up to right after I hit the age of 19, I believe and I regret not liking them at a younger age...
James Dean and Steve McQueen are two icons I will want to wear print shirts of until I'm probably 60 and hopefully fit.

I mean come on, you know you're tired of them, but you'll, at some point, wonder why the hell does every generation post 50s or 60s fall madly in love with these two?
Answer is, you can't bullshit yourself into becoming one of them or into making two of these...Reason why their icons is cause their always replicated and not quite possible to EVER make someone with the exact same blueprint as theirs, in all sense of it.

And for my crammed "12 Days of Christmas" Wishlist, I'd kill a deer---which I don't really mean, to get these two most awesome images of my idols printed right across my chest on great fitting white shirts.
THAT's the plan and THAT's the dream.
#7 for Dean and #6 for McQueen.

I like Dean in this photo cause it's his most handsome. I'm watching East of Eden and I think people have placed too much on Rebel Without A Cause...Dean felt more relatable in Eden for me and he looked so impressive and stunning in the movie.

McQueen here, with the American flag pretty much is a statement shirt. It says so much without saying anything at all, right?  I like how it seems so patriotic, and how it also reads like it's a careless, detached cool that McQueen's known for.

There are more photos of the two that I personally like. Like McQueen's motorcycle license (?)  if there is such a thing and if that's what you call it. And also Dean's pretty candid photo of him, looking at a plaque and all his handsome bed of hair on display...
Nice look Steve!

Missed Me?

I have a shirt like this, from my granddaddy. I had the balls to wear it once, but not again...We'll see

Salt has been missing some Sean O'pry and thanks to La Maison Simons "enlisting" of O'pry, he's back on my space.
I still wonder if that rusty grammared guy on Facebook is really Sean, cause it's weird how this one on Facebook talks like he's not in and from America, but when Sean's on video, he's chatty and effortlessly good in English. And by good in English I mean he talks like this, not like "I am deleting people who use picture without proper consent, not okay for me for you to using my picture." Hmmmm....

Yes, Worry

When Terry's doing your picture, you know you're hot.

You know that worried, handsome look that gets girls crazy and inspires other boys to try and grow their brows thicker?
Marlon's got it down as if he was born looking like this.
THIS is a mug shot, an ID picture, a Facebook profile picture, all important picture that's hard to do.
Congratulations Marlon, you have Terry Richardson as a photographer. Oh wait, you're a fucking model, I forgot.
Good night.

That Kid

Forever Young Lachowski

It's Lachowski everybody for Made In Brazil's second issue.
Reason why I like Francisco Lachowski is cause I feel like of all the models out there, he seems like the kind you'd never have a hard time getting along with. He seems like tons of fun and gets serious when the occassion calls for it. I remember using his photo for my Facebook profile, one I got from models.com (prime source of everything model-y, duhh) and his eyebrows caused a riot: girls loved him that moment on cause he was too beautiful for words. To me though, he's that good-looking kid you sit just about six or seven seats away from, cracks the best jokes, laughs aloud and when it's a drinking Friday night, he's philosophical and makes total sense. No, I don't know him, I wish I did...Lachowski's like that kid...

The cover definitely took me back to high school, when after running in the field, the cocky ones took off their shirts and flexed thin muscles. They had fun out of it and it's all part of the endless supply of youth and humor that I see Lachowski has...Or at least in the photos I've seen of him. Now, who was my version of that kid? Chances are, most of my guy friends are.. Which I know, is the reason why I feel Lachowski's easy to get a long with.
Right? Right!

NICE job Lachowski. And of course, Made In Brazil.

Learning (the) British accent with David Gandy

Actually, he kinda reminds me of Paul Newman.
He's actually pretty interesting. I've watched him a lot of times and he's smart.

Dannynspiration

Great job Danny.
Skating should look this easy and handsome and fun.
And if you can't skate like this, you can't model...I'm kidding.

The Face

Fashion's latest Hellen: Fei Fei
I wonder how many ships she'll set sail with a face like that?

The Appetizer

Iselin Steiro and Freja Beha Erichsen for Italian VOGUE

Before heading down for lunch, this is what you should look at.
And I mean that in a non-sexual way.
You can barely see Iselin cause she's all ivory and blonde. Great cover...

The Face(s)

Dolls...check out more of the amazing photos here

French VOGUE, always the stunner.
That (Sasha's) face could be the face of our generation. That's the face that allured me into fashion and lips that are caught in between an exhale and a sigh and eyes that look like two distant lights up a dark tunnel...The power of Pivovarova, never fails to amaze me.
Beautiful.
Ava, on the other hand, is an angel. I wonder who she is...

The New Garrett

It's not just cause "Garrett" is an awesome, more rugged variation of my name, "Gerard", but it just so happens that the two Garretts I really admire are truly admirable (despite Garrett Neff's fall to # 21).
Garrett Hedlund, the star of Disney's nice sequel Tron: Legacy, has an amazing voice, I wish I talked like that...It has that slight accent, that New Yahk twang that's really nice to listen to. And he's good-looking without looking like a Sean O'pry or an Orlando Bloom, you know those looks that are too pretty for a guy. Garrett's face reminds me of something like Michael Pitt's and Ryan Gosling combined. And I like a face that grows on you...Like Olivia Wilde, Keira Knightley, Carey Mulligan and Rachel from Glee. Anyway, Garrett Hedlund won me over when I watched his Death Sentence interview. I wonder how he'd sound if he sings...
Well, I'm excited to watch Tron and his other movies this year. Couldn't wait for him to make it big, as in BIG enough to cover for GQ or ESQUIRE or VANITY FAIR or DETAILS.
I am now a fan...

Gosling

Ryan Gosling

Okay, I will buy Interview magazine.
I'm slowly, surely and most definitely turning into one Gosling fan. And I hope I get to watch Blue Valentine here. Soon.
James Dean reincarnate? No?

Before Noon

I love this photo.
And I mean it.
The wind in his hair is almost singing to me, every time I look at this photo. And those eyes are piercing. Is this Mat Gordon? I'm still kind of iffy. Or maybe not.
Oh New York...This is exactly how I want to look (even when it's impossible) on my way to work. I keep saying this all the time, but New York's the only city I've ever been to (cause I haven't traveled the world yet) where inspiration whips you right on the face in a cool, cool breeze right after stepping out of an MTA stamped train. Imagine that.

Beautiful Twins

I'm watching the original Thomas Crown Affair now for my THE EDGE feature and I couldn't help but notice how stunningly similar icon Faye Dunaway and top model Lara Stone are.
They're like twins.

Dance Dance

Such a pink cover.

I've always been intrigued by HERCULES magazine mainly because of their covers.
It's rare to find this publication round here and I just might get myself an issue shipped when they cover, oh I don't know, any of my favorite models and (if they do) celebrities.
But this one is quite an interesting combo: Givenchy muse, Maria Carla Boscono and the famous ballet dancer, Roberto Bolle.
What is it about Robert Bolle that the fashion people love? Is it his ripped body? His face? Or the fact that he's this masculine looking and does ballet? (not that I'm diseased with "that" kind of bias). Hmmmm....
I guess I have to study more on this Mr. Robert Bolle. He's been around the fashion glossies for quite some time now. VOGUE, this month's French VOGUE and more.

Baddest Boy in town

This is probably for popping all those balloons Sean

Thank you Andy Warhol for the inspiration.
You know, if there's one thing Sean O'pry is guilty of, it's being too handsome. There's no point in proving he's guilty of it when you can see it.
A guilty man should be sent to jail. And a very very very very handsome man must rot in jail.

Nah. I'm joking. He'd never go to jail. And if he did, I bet it's because he is just to damn f-ing gwapo.
Good job Sean O. for being the Baddest Boy in town. With all your appearances in important magazines and campaigns this month, I'm sure you're on your way to a much-deserved number 1.
CAN NOT WAIT.

P.S. My birthday's on the 16th and this is featured on British GQ, with Jon Hamm as one of the covers (another "criminal"). So you know what to give me on the 16th! hahahaha

Heart

This reminds me a LOT of past ROGUE issues.
Such a beautiful woman, Heart Evangelista.
Please grab a copy (if you want). I wrote two features for their music issue (of course, grateful to L.A. and Mr. Ugarte) one is Retrospect and Get The Look.
Peace!
